Who do you pray for?

There are about 6,870,000,000 people in the world, about 310,000,000 of those people live in the U.S. I don’t know how many people the average person knows but most of us know a lot of people. When you pray, who do you pray for? You pray for yourself, your family, some of your friends, and maybe some other stuff. We care about our family and friends, but what about the people we’ve never met. I’m talking about people on the other side of the world, people you will most likely never meet, never hear about, or anything. Do you pray for the world, your country, your state, your city, your school? Or do you pray for yourself, your family, and your friends? There are people all over the world, people who have never heard of Jesus, people who take the Gospel for granted. Most of us probably do pray for our friends but what about people that you don’t know and might not ever think about. You might not know them but God knows them and loves them just as deeply as he knows and loves you. So we can’t just pray for the people we know, when we have brothers and sisters around the world that need our prayer, maybe even more than our family and friends do.

3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. -Isaiah 6:3

So before this verse Isaiah says “I saw the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted, and his train filled the Temple”. Isaiah sees the LORD sitting on his throne in the highest and best position, with Angels or Seraphims, all around him. These Angels cried out, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. Alright I’ve found out that in the Hebrew language, intensity is communicated by repetition. So to say Holy, holy, holy is the LORD, is showing that the LORD is Holy at the highest it can be. Also Holy is repeated three times for the Three Persons in God. I’m not quite sure what the “..Lord of hosts..” part means, but I am thinking it means Lord of his army. And “the whole earth is full of his glory.” means his Glory is all around us, completely filling the earth.

8Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. -Isaiah 6:8

God wants to reach the world through willing people. Isaiah didn’t hesitate, he said HERE I AM, SEND ME! What if God said to you “Whom shall I send..?” Would your answer be SEND ME O LORD, HERE I AM!?

Hello Blog readers,

So it’s been a while since you’ve read the mind of, well me. It is already 2010, wow. Well let’s get to it. I just wanted to share a few of my “New Years Resolution’s” with you.

Read the whole Bible this Year.
Take my next step in Faith(Whatever that may be).
Get a Job.
Save some Money.
Keep my grades up.
Keep Working out, and Stay in Shape.

I’m sure more will come, but that’s all I got so far. I will post again soon.

We have got to “Go Hard”

So earlier I was listenin to Lecrae, he’s a Christian Rapper, the song ” Go Hard”. And I was listening and a verse from it goes:

I done been crossed over see the full court press
I’m a full court mess if the Lord don’t use me

Running from my trials thinking everythings groovy
If the Cross don’t move me then I don’t wanna breath no more

If I ain’t seeing Christ partna I don’t wanna see no more
Rep every day without worrying about bruising
I been to china man I seen some real persecution
If U didn’t know him would your life look the same
Can they tell you value Jesus by the way you rep his name?
Man what’s the point of living if I’m living for myself
Lord empty out my life before I put you on the shelf

I thought that was soo true.

Doing What’s Right?

So I’m sitting here studyhall, just thinkin. Now when you think about
how we do things that we know are wrong. Why do we do things that we
know we aren’t supposted to do. Everyone does it, and usually the
response would be “We’re human, we can’t help it..” But my question
is, Can we help it? Maybe it’s the assumption that we can’t help it
that is making teens and adults think we really can’t help it. Ponder
about that for a while.

The Material Things

So earlier today I was listening to Lose My Soul, by tobyMac. At the beginning of this song it goes:

Man I wanna tell ya’ll something, Man.
Man I’m not gonna let these material thing’s, get in my way, ya’ll.
I’m trying to get somewhere.
I’m trying to get somewhere,
Thats real and pure and true and eternal.

I think he’s saying that he doesn’t want to be distracted by the material things of the world, like the things that we don’t need. When we are focused on these things, we lose ourselves and it separates up from our father Jesus Christ. I just think that that is so true. We shouldn’t be caught up in these material things.

This was heavy on my heart. So I just pray that we keep our eyes open wide on Him. And we share our love for Him with the rest of the world. That we don’t become consumed by the things that won’t be there in the end, that we stay focused on the Greatest One of all.

So I end with my favorite scripture.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
2 Corinthians 4:18

I Need Your Help.

It’s been a little while. I had to take a little break from blogging. But I am going to have some good stuff coming in the upcoming weeks. But what I am really here to tell everyone, is that I am hoping to go on a Church Trip to Guatemala, in June, and I am trying to raise money for it. And if anyone wants to help me raise money so that I can go on this trip, contact me. This would help out so much. Thanks.

Why worry? This is what the Bible says.

What’s up? This is Dillon, I am going to write about what the Bible tells us about worrying. Alright.

The bible clearly tells Christians to avoid worrying.

6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Philippians 4:6

In this Scripture we learn that we should bring all of our needs and concerns to God in prayer rather than worry about stuff.

25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.”
Matthew 6:25-26

Jesus assures us that our Heavenly Father will take care of all our needs. Therefore, we need not worry about anything.

So how do we over come worry?

7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
1 Peter 5:7

In this Scripture God is telling us to give Him all of our worries and concerns.

So why does God take on all of our problems?

The Bible says because he care for you.

God is concerned about everything that happens to you. No worry is too big or too small for His attention. When we give God our problems, He promises to give us His peace.

7 “And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”

Philippians 4:7
